Jonah
Ibiamagabara has over six years of experience in management consulting,
engineering, and project management. Throughout his multisectoral career, he
has developed strong competences in managing people, resources, and activities.
Previously, he has worked as a Project Engineer with the NNPC Gas Infrastructure
Company (NGIC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company
Ltd (NNPC), where he provided engineering and project management support
for the delivery of critical gas infrastructure projects at Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano
(AKK) and Obiafu--Obrikon–Oben (OB3) to enhance electricity availability across
Nigeria. He was also actively involved in front-end and detailed Engineering Design
of gas pipelines and ancillary facilities. Jonah also retains a keen interest
in renewables. While pursuing his Masters at Cranfield University, Jonah was
part of a team that evaluated the impact of renewable energy installations on
climate change. He believes that renewable energy has an important role in expanding
energy availability, affordability, and security.
Jonah is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in
Nigeria (COREN) and holds memberships with the Nigerian Society of
Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers
(NIMechE). He is also a PRINCE2 certified project management practitioner.
Scholastically, Jonah earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
from Obafemi Awolowo University--OAU, Nigeria and a Master’s degree in
Renewable Energy Engineering at Cranfield University, UK, where he
finished top of his postgraduate class.
